企画展示館 / The Special Exhibits Wing
ピカソやシャガール、岸田劉生ら著名画家らをはじめ、さまざまな企画展を年に5回ほど開催しています。また館内各所にブールデルやムーア、ジャコメッティ、マリー二、カルズーなど海外彫刻家の作品を常設展示しています。
The Special Exhibits Wing holds five exhibitions a year, featuring works by renowned artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Chagall. Additionally, the entire wing features a permanent exhibition of works by renowned sculptors such as Bourdelle, Giacometti and Marini.
鴨居玲の部屋 / Rey Camoy's Studio
2015年7月1日、鴨居玲の画業を永遠に顕彰するため、未完の自画像やデッサン帳、身の回りにおいていた愛用品などを展示する「鴨居玲の部屋」を企画展示館１階に開設しました。作品完成に至るまでの過程や画家の心の軌跡をたどり、鴨居玲の魅力をあらためて感じていただければ幸いです。3ヶ月周期で展示替えを行っています。
On July 1, 2015, we opened “Rey Camoy's Studio” to eternally honor the artistic legacy of Rey Camoy. This space displays his unfinished self-portraits, sketchbooks, and cherished personal items his kept close. Exhibits are rotated every three months.
鴨居 玲（かもいれい）Rey Camoy 昭和3年（1928）‐昭和60年（1985）
1928年、金沢に生まれ、金沢美術工芸専門学校（現在の金沢美術工芸大学）で学び、洋画家宮本三郎に師事。1959年に初渡欧。1965年、単身ブラジルに渡り、パリ、ローマにそれぞれ1年近く滞在し帰国。1969年、第4回昭和会展で優秀賞を、安井賞展で安井賞を受賞。1971年、スペインに渡りマドリードに半年ほど滞在、「ドン・キホーテ」で知られるラ・マンチャ地方のバルデペーニャスに移り、村人たちと気さくに触れ合う。酔っぱらい、おばあさん、廃兵、教会など、この時期に多くのモチーフを得る。1974年、パリにアトリエを構え。パリ、ニューヨーク、日本で多くの個展を開催。1977年、帰国、神戸に居を構える。個展や画集出版など順調であった反面、環境の違いから制作に焦燥感を抱く。やがて本質的な自画像の制作に取り組み「1982年 私」「勲章」など名作を生み出すが、心身を病み、1985年9月に急逝。
Rey Camoy was born in Kanazawa in 1928. He travelled to Europe in 1959. He moved to Brazil in 1965, also spending time in Paris and Rome. In 1971, he relocated to Spain, residing in Madrid and Valdepeñas in La Mancha. During this period, he developed motifs such as drunks, disabled veterans and churches. In 1974, he lived in Paris and New York. Returning to Japan in 1977, he settled in Kobe and focused on creating self-portraits. He died suddenly in 1985.
