Ryuzaburo Umehara known as strength of his brushworks and colors and Tsugouharu Foujita drew delicate milk white female in the nude. While these two painters seem to have different characteristics, there are many similarities as well. They received academic education of European painting in Japan, and went to France in the early 20th century. Umehara met Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Georges Rouault. Foujita met the painters of ?cole de Paris. Then Umehara used mineral pigments and Foujita used Japanese painting brushes and ink on oil paintings, due to various experiences in France. In the exhibition, you can see the paintings of Umehara and Foujita, together with other pieces related to them. We hope you to enjoy the works of the two painters studied in France.
